1) Competitors may enter in the appropriate category by submitting a signed / paid entry by Thanksgiving in the year of the contest.
2) Categories will include : Professional- full or part time
Non-professional
Student- any age currently enrolled
3) Competitors must check in between 9:00 - 11:00 am on Dec. 2, 2011. All entries must be set up completely for judging by noon on Dec. 2, 2011.
4) Upon check in, competitors will be assigned a competition number, table space and (2) competitor wristbands which will enable those wearing them entrance to the Ice Cutter's Christmas.
5) Competitors entries will be on display and may not be picked up until Dec. 18, 2011 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Entries not picked up by Dec. 23, 2010 will be discarded. The Ice Cutter's Christmas, Fire and Ice Hall or the Iceworks will not be responsible for any damages to displays for any reason.
6) Entrys may be moved for publicity or other purposes and all efforts will be made to insure the quality and safety of the displays. Use of the displays during the competition dates and images in perpetuity will be the property of the Ice Cutter's Christmas.
7) No innapropriate displays will be allowed at the sole discretion of the Ice Cutter's Christmas.
1) All entrys will consist of work completed only by the competitor.
2) All entrys will consist of a decorated cookie to fit within an 8" x 8" x 8" box.
3) All cookies and decorations must be edible. Non edible items may be used only for armature support, mechanics or lighting. Arnmature or mechanics should not be visible.
4) Decorations must be edible and appropriate. These items may include but are not limited to sugar, icing, nuts, candies, cookies, chocolate, etc..
5) Items may be sculpted, molded, piped, handmade, store bought, etc.. Points will be awarded for the more craftsmanship and difficulty displayed.
6) All entrys will display a Christmas theme. Let your imagination run wild.
7) No identifying marks or logos may be a part of the display before judging.
8) Cookies will be displayed on appropriate food grade display ware of your choice; ie. china, silver, glass, marble, etc.. Size of display should not exceed 12" wide x 12" deep.
9) Judging will be blind to insure fair results.
10) Judges will award points in categories as follows:
10 points - overall impression - artistic impression, composition, strength of design
10 points - craftsmanship - execution and use of culinary skills and techniques, degree
of difficulty, complexity
10 points - creativity - originalty, unique design, use of materials and display
10 points - expression of theme - consistency of theme and how strongly displayed
11) Trophies will be awarded to the top three point winners in each category. All entrys with a score of 36 or more points will be awarded a superior ribbon prize.
12) Prizes and point totals will be awarded at the awards ceremony at 7:00 pm on the evening of the contest at the Ice Cutter's Christmas.
